Animal Shelter Joins Forces With Senior Memory Care Facility To Save Orphaned Kittens And Spread Love

Kind people at Pima Animal Care Center in Arizona have joined forces with Catalina Springs Memory Carefacility to care for their most vulnerable kittens that have just rescued after being separated from their mothers. To increase their chances of survival, the kittens needed around the clock feedings, as well as affection and love. That is where the residents of seniors at Catalina Springs stepped in.

What the residents got back is so much more rewarding – they got to feel needed again. Even dementia and Alzheimers cannot rob from a person from it.

“The desire to give love and receive love remains,” says Sharon Mercer, Catalina Springs Executive Director. “The kittens have given us the opportunity to nurture this human condition that lies in each and every one of our residents.”

“This partnership is an amazing way to enrich the lives of the memory care center’s residents while saving the lives of our community’s most vulnerable pets.”
